Trump on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam: It was one of the stupidest decisions ever made, fully funded by the United States.

US President Donald Trump asserted in a post on the social networking site "Truth Social" on Saturday that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his success in forcing peace between Egypt and Ethiopia, despite the latter's construction of a massive dam that reduces the flow of Nile water to the downstream countries of Sudan and Egypt.

US President Trump said that the construction of the dam was funded with US money, a move he described as "stupid" in his post, which included his diplomatic efforts to resolve numerous international conflicts, including the recent conflict between India and Pakistan, the Congo and Rwanda, and the diplomatic clash between Ethiopia and Egypt over the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

The Pakistani government announced that it had officially nominated US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his "decisive diplomatic intervention and pivotal leadership" during the recent escalation between Pakistan and India.

A statement posted on the government's X platform read: "The Government of Pakistan has decided to formally nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2026, in recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and outstanding leadership during the recent India-Pakistan crisis."

The statement added that the US President, at a moment of "escalating regional turmoil," demonstrated "remarkable strategic foresight and statesmanship through effective diplomatic engagement with both Islamabad and New Delhi," which led to the easing of tensions between the two sides.

The government concluded by saying: "Pakistan hopes that Trump's sincere efforts will contribute to regional and global stability, especially in light of the ongoing crises in the Middle East, including the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and the escalating tensions linked to Iran."
