⚙️ How the Contamination Occurred
The issue resulted from an unclean production line switch. Equipment used to produce hazelnut-containing bread was not properly cleaned before switching to white bread, causing trace contamination.
Although the packaging mentions “may contain tree nuts,” the lack of specific mention of hazelnuts poses a serious risk for people with allergies.
🚨 FDA Issues Consumer Warning
One complaint involving mild gastrointestinal discomfort was received, but no major health incidents have been reported so far.
The FDA strongly advises consumers to immediately stop consuming the product and return it to the store for a full refund.
