**CNN** has reported that the Trump administration is evaluating a proposal to replace Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility with a civilian nuclear program funded by America’s Gulf allies, at an estimated cost of up to **\$30 billion**.
According to sources, the proposed program would prohibit uranium enrichment and be strictly for peaceful, civilian use. The idea is being considered as part of a broader **diplomatic effort to reduce tensions and re-engage with Iran** on nuclear issues.
Additional incentives being discussed include the **partial lifting of sanctions on Iran** and **access to \$6 billion of Iranian funds frozen abroad**.
White House spokesperson **Karoline Leavitt** stated Thursday that the U.S. is now pursuing a diplomatic path with Iran to achieve **long-term peace in the Middle East**, adding that Special Envoy **Steven Witkoff** is actively engaging with Iranian officials.
This development follows European reports suggesting that recent U.S. airstrikes failed to completely destroy Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles. Furthermore, **the Pentagon has not yet provided definitive intelligence to EU allies** regarding Iran’s remaining nuclear capabilities.
These talks come in the wake of a 12-day military confrontation between **Israel and Iran**, during which the U.S. struck three Iranian nuclear sites. Iran responded by targeting the American **Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar**, before President Trump announced a **ceasefire between Iran and Israel** earlier this week.
