Turki Al Al-Sheikh Responds to Egyptian Minister’s Road Cost Comparison After Deadly Crash

**Saudi official Turki Al Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, has responded—albeit indirectly—to comments made by Egypt’s Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, who compared the cost of road construction between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.**

The remarks came in the aftermath of a **tragic road accident** in Egypt’s **Monufia Governorate**, where **18 young women from the village of Kafr Al-Sanabsa**, along with their driver, lost their lives. A heavy truck collided at high speed with their minibus on a regional highway while they were on their way to work in the Nile Delta fields.

In his statements, El-Wazir suggested that road construction in Egypt is significantly more expensive than in Saudi Arabia. This sparked public discussion and criticism online. Al Al-Sheikh responded through a social media post, writing:

> “It’s not about cost comparisons, but about infrastructure quality, safety standards, and outcomes on the ground. May God protect everyone and have mercy on the victims.”

The exchange ignited further debate regarding road safety in Egypt and the need for stronger infrastructure oversight, especially in rural areas where fatal accidents have become alarmingly frequent.
