I Saw Her Up Close": Trump Weighs In on Journalist’s Gender Allegations About Brigitte Macron

In a surprising twist, former U.S. President Donald Trump has stepped into a controversial investigation by conservative American commentator Candace Owens, who is probing unverified claims that Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, was born male.

Speaking on her YouTube show, Owens revealed that Trump personally contacted her, urging her to halt the investigation. “You know,” he allegedly said, “I saw her up close. She looked like a woman to me. I had dinner with her at the top of the Eiffel Tower.”

Owens responded by claiming to possess information indicating that Brigitte Macron works with a specialist in gender-transition procedures and feminizing treatments. “It’s crazy that I was discussing this with a U.S. president,” she said, “but I just wanted to tell him the truth.”

Earlier in January, Owens had vowed to release what she called “evidence” that the French First Lady was born male — a move that prompted legal threats from the Macron family's attorneys. Nonetheless, Owens insisted that U.S. free speech protections would shield her. “This isn’t Europe,” she said. “Their lawyers can’t silence me.”

Owens also posed several public questions to President Macron via X (formerly Twitter), asking why there are no photos or verified records from Brigitte’s youth. She referenced the couple’s controversial past, noting that Macron was 15 when he reportedly began a relationship with his then-married teacher, who was 39 at the time.
